As the latest project in a series of ongoing improvements to their historic church building, First Congregational embarked on a sanctuary remodeling in the late 1990’s. A 1966 renovation of the original sanctuary had dramatically changed the appearance of the space to a more contemporary design.

The congregation determined that a return to the traditional character of the building was in order. New construction of the balcony, chancel, choir loft and seating was completed in 2000. The vaulted ceiling, created in 1966, was retained and slightly modified to blend with more traditional improvements. Seating capacity is approximately 300.
